Urban Sprawl in Major Cities

SYDNEY
Sydney is located on the eastern sea board of Australia and is the largest city within the region.

Urban Sprawl in a major city like Sydney is causing a lot of a problem and needs to be controlled. Much of Sydney is being rapidly expanded, spanning out from the Sydney CBD and is really causing a problem as much infrastructure was not originally planned for certain parts of outer Sydney. By such an explosive expansion the car reliant city has more cars on the road due to lack of planning and development. This is so as no public transport is properly implented to the areas of urban sprawl in and around Sydney.
The urban sprawl in Sydney needs to be quickly brought under control otherwise it will get too much and will overwelm all the facilities in Sydney.

NEW YORK
New York city is located on the western seaboard of the United States sitting alongside the Hudson river.
Urban sprawl in New York is getting to almost an unbearable limit as the space available is quickly running out and the expansion is going out even out to other states such as New Jersey. As the urban sprawl is getting so far out it is now so hard to try and stop the such agressive expansion of the suburbs. This is causing widespread problems because there is not nearly enough infrastructure to cope with the amount of extra people moving to New York. This has been known to cause grid-lock on the roads and overcrowding on public transport.
At this point in time it will be so hard to try and even stop the rapid expansion as it brances out so far away from the actual New York City CBD. They just need to consider the planning which is involved.
